The state of the Roma community, Ashkali and Egyptian is alarming.
So said the Voice of the Roma, the Ashkalis, and the Egyptians ( Vo RAE) and KOSINT network have held with Kosovo Assembly deputies, KO network SINT and Finland's ambassador Pia Styernvall.
Isaac Skyer from VoRAE, said this meeting is aimed at accruing and integration, given the current situation and the marginalised situation of the RAE community.
” According to a 92 per cent report of Roma women are unemployed, the community situation is alarming. The goal of this meeting is to reduce that gap, and also ensure an equal environment in Kosovo”, he said.
Jehona Xhaferi from KOSINT said that organisations working for the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities have already become together to influence their Avocation.
“I believe that in the future we will work both individually and individually, given that you are busy but it is also worth your voice to be heard”, she said MPs who were present at this meeting.
Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Xhevahire Izmaku said MPs' role is very important, and even owe them to work for these communities.
I have an idea, but I miss deputies from communities, why aren't they here. It is my will that the representatives of you who are in your country be here”, she said.
The MP from the Alternative, Mimoza Kusari- Lila, said the only minority in Kosovo that has been treated otherwise is the Serb minority.
For us as a group, it's important that we have numbers, like graduates, those who left school, to create the idea of where to go, we have the will to help”, said Kusari-Lila.
LDK MP Vjosa Osmani said representatives of these communities in the Kosovo Assembly should be at this meeting and show from what they are stumbled, and what their demands are. We are at a stage when the Parliament is dysfunctional, we are in a situation where within the plenary sessions we can hardly discuss, but on the commissions we can expect”, Osmani said.
