The Drenas Municipal Assembly tomorrow holds an extraordinary session at the sole point of the agenda, where the oppositions demand the abolition of the DKA's decision to close schools in Abri, Godce and Georgece, where children have now been out of school for two months.
According to the Drenas municipality, the reason for the closure of these schools has been that there have been no sufficient number of students or budgetary opportunities to operate these schools.
Education Minister Shyqi Bytyqi has reacted to closing schools in the Drensa municipality, calling it unfounded, wrong and unjust.
The parents of students of these schools have also expressed concern and have called for cancellation of the decision.
MA UNMIK has warned that it will also officially send the Darenas municipality letter in hopes that this request will be reviewed and students will return to schools.
“MARST of its budget does not provide budgetary tools for any municipality, school or parallels, because each municipality has a government grant for education provided, which is shared by the Ministry of Finance, so the DKA's request for an additional budget from August is illegal”, the minister Bytyqi had declared.
