Kosovo police have arrested five people for illegal weapons.
The event took place in Pristina, where four firearms, a pistol-shaped match, as well as bullets of various types have been confiscated.
Pristina Regional Police Directorate in five separate cases has confiscated weapons and bullets. Weapons have been found and confiscated on four different vehicles, during an action on the “Bajram Bahtiri” road in the capital, while pistol-shaped matches have been confiscated in the courtyard of a school in Fushe Kosovo.
“Following all suspected persons, the cases of possession, control, or unauthorized use of weapons have been initiated, and four of them after interview with the state prosecutor's order have been released in regular procedure, while one suspect has been sent to the detention centre”, it is said in the police communiqué.
In the first nine months of 2018 alone, 337 weapons, 3229 ammunition of various types and calibres have been seized by police units of the Regional Police Directorate in Pristina, and 292 cases of possession, control, possession, or unauthorized use of weapons have been initiated.
