The business community should be involved in early stages of the process of drafting legislation that has an impact on the private sector, in order to ensure that legislation is in line with industry needs and promotes economic development in the country.
This was the main conclusion of today's American Economic Ode table in Kosovo, where businesses had the opportunity to discuss with Kosovo Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala.
Minister Shala clarified some of the ministry's priorities that directly connect with the private sector in the country at short points, saying the importance would be dedicated to regulating the oil market, as well as to consumer protection initiatives.
He warned that over the next few days, there will be an opportunity to address the challenges of trade relations with his counterpart in the Republic of Albania, in order to pave the way for boosting trade and co-operation between the two countries.
While Arrian Zeka, executive director of the American Economic Ode in Kosovo, expressed Ode's readiness to contribute to all influential fields in the business environment.
Ilir Ibrahimi, president of the Board of Governors of the United States, stressed the importance of having a real and constructive dialogue between the private sector and the public, as the only way to ensure private sector growth in the country.
Otherwise, at the meeting the businesses present had the opportunity to discuss various issues with the country's private sector, including the Trade Society Law, the Consumer Protection Act and the Law on Internal Trade, and the challenges in implementing industrial law in the country.
