The Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo appear to have close co-operation in the municipality of Drenas.
They have voted today against abolishing the decision to reopen schools that have been closed in several villages of Drenas.
Drenas Mayor Ramiz Ladrovci has announced:
Today, the Drinas Municipal Assembly met at the request of opposition deputies, in connection with an extraordinary session for abolishing the DKA's decision to close schools in Abri, Godnco and Gjerrica.
This proposal did not pass. I thank the municipal assistants for this fair decision, in particular I thank MP Nica for the institutional and legal commitment in our municipality.
The decision on the three separate parallels was the most serious decision during my mandate, for many reasons. Such decisions, however serious, have been necessary to respect and enforce legitimacy.
In this regard, opposition assemblyists in Drenas have reacted.
Florentina Elezi é Veliu, an assemblywoman of VVA in the Drinas municipality, writes:
The PDK and LDK vote against opening schools in Drenas, received.
Even the other opposition assemblyist, Petrit Gashi, has reacted this way:
PDK and LDK vote against opening schools in Drenas.
Disgraceful, horrible, unwarranted!
In contrast, the municipality of Drenas, long ago, has justified closing schools with the small number of students in some schools, despite one of them having followed the teaching of more than 100 students, as well as reasoning that there are legal cases for these schools to continue to remain open.
