Reaction: Attacks on nature guards in the Dark are an ugly act of weakness

19,10,2018- In these days when illegal logging of forests has intensified in the National Park, conservation guards in these protected areas have been fully committed to controlling the situation and preventing cutting and damaging the park's natural values.

During field work, however, guards are facing problems of various natures, including physical assaults and shootings with firearms from forest - damage groups that illegally cut forests and trade wood into business.

The latest cases were yesterday's, respectively, attacks on nature guardians of the PK “Sharri” in the Suhareka region, Jemin Shala and Ali Dalaj, who were physically attacked by these organized groups and taken bodily injuries, and that of shooting a gun into the nature guard in the Kachanic region.

Regarding both cases, the Kosovo Police and the State Prosecutor have been informed of the cases. In this case, Kosovo Environment Protection Agency Directorate for National Park Management “, respectively. Sharri” requires competent organs to prioritize all necessary measures for bringing these people to justice.
