We welcome the extensive anti-drug operation undertaken today in various Albanian cities by Albanian State Police. Fighting organised crime and drug trafficking in Albania is a top priority for the European Union. Now we expect that criminal investigations and sentences will continue with sustainable results”, writes in a post in Titter, European Union Ambassador to Albania Louis Soreca.
In a broad action extended to several cities in the country, State Police arrested two former deputies Sunday, as well as some of the members of the so-called “strong” of Shijak. A broad operation was also undertaken for the arrest of Kelmend Balil, considered “Eskobar of the Balkans”, though his capture was not possible.
