During the review of the Bill on the completion and change of the Law on Automedias and Amendments of the Economic Development Commission, Infrastructure, Trade, Industry and Regional Development, Commission on Boards and Finance Naser Osmani considers paragraph 1 not being treated well and harmful.
According to him, there are a large number of older vehicles in Kosovo that circulate on the streets of Kosovo.
What is required to grow imports of 10 to 15 will further increase road communication. The logic to base Kosovo iron storage is not good”, Osmani stressed.
MP Dardan Molyqaj countering changing the vehicle bill stressed that what's important is the environment.
In his view, contaminated air causes damage to people's environment and health.
I don't believe it's the general interest except for any official or importer of cars in Kosovo. This bill should not be passed to the commission or to the Assembly”, Moliqaj stressed.
According to him, it's not a priority car, but a health and environment.
Moliqaj added that the EU office and Germany's embassy have rejected the idea of old import, which according to him are right.
The initiator of this bill, MP Mergim Lushtaku, has said the bill in question is not against EU laws, but EU standards are respected by this bill.
The other object with this bill was social well-being, because not all have access to new cars”, Lushtaku stressed, adding that he also respects environmental criteria.
Safete Haderjona has expressed her concern over the high excise import of cars. She's been looking for a better search for cars, because, according to her, she's got new vehicles, and it happens to be that they're not okay, while there's cars older than ten years and it's okay to meet environmental conditions.
Likewise, Blerim Kuci has supported the initiative to import cars older than ten years.
Commission Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku has said that if it is the goal to help citizens, it will be recommended to lower the cost of importing cars while not supporting imports of cars older than ten years.
