According to Macedonia's Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, a day earlier during a news conference, Macedonian traffickers of this network had been put under investigation for 18 months. They were part of an international organised criminal network.
Spasovski also added that the group had trafficked many illegal immigrants from Albania or Macedonia to the United States of America and Canada. In the focus of this criminal network were those who would be unable to obtain an American or Canadian visa on legal grounds.
Meanwhile, according to police, the price for services offered by the destroyed gang already ranged from $20,000 to $25,000 per person. / TCh
