British ambassador's order for public money abuses by officials

The ambassador of Great Britain to Kosovo, Ruairi O'Connell, has declared that public procurement in Kosovo faces various challenges, adding here to the inflated scandals and contracts that come as a lack of political will to stop. O'Connell made these comments on signing memorandums of co-operation with [the] leaders.
O'Connell made these comments in the case of signing memorandums of co-operation with the leaders of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Health, the Kosovo Energy Corporation and the Procuration Central Agency, with the aim of increasing accountability, transparency and good governance in the procurement process, where the ambassador said that with this project they manage to empower citizens for the possibility of accounting.
After signing this memorandum, Minister of Infrastructure, Pal Lekaj, said it is now easier to access official documents.
“We are transparent in front of Kosovo's citizens, this is evidenced even with the signing of this @x1> memorandum, Lekaj added.
Health Minister Uran Ismaili said this minister has tried to stop misuse of public money, and such a thing has been observed according to him.
“We need to have a stable system, to fight corruption itself, not the ministry itself. We cannot do this alone, and we have welcomed this support”, Ismaili added.
Among other things, he has claimed that there have been cases when patients are left without drugs because of misuse of public money.
KDI Director Ismet Kryeziu has thanked the embassy for entrusting the work to them as an institute for such monitoring and KDI expertise.
