Bahtiri set to open the bridge: A World Star Unites Peoples

Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri, on the “Zyra Anques” show, at RTV Dugojni, has talked about the death threat he received from an anonymous letter to the opening of the bridge over the Iber River in Mitrovica.

Bahtiri has said he was aware that the bridge case over the Iber River is specific and difficult.

He said nobody can stop this road.

Absolutely not, I don't have what I think in that direction. The case is troubled and specific. I knew all this and I don't have that problem because I can't stop anybody from doing this, he said.

Bahtiri also said that the inauguration of the Ibër Bridge has extended an invitation to eight world - famous singers, including Shakira.

Bahtiri said the current situation in Mitrovica is not funny, as he said displaced Albanians in the south should return to their homes in northern Mitrovica.

We have applied not only to Shakira, but to eight others, but we expect their answer as we are negotiating. Anyone who is internationally powerful had to contribute. This is not funny, but to cry because everyone can help this process... it's very important that this bridge opens up and citizens move freely, but Albanians also return to their homes in the north. Homes that have brought you to finish. This is a great concern for all citizens of Kosovo. I'm trying to do everything that's possible”, he stressed.

Mitrovica chairman points out that he wants to make the bridge the best way possible with a world star.
