American foreign policy expert David L. Phillips, in an interview for “kallx”, says the United States of America has not agreed to the idea of correcting the borders, which Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is now accruing to several months through Kosovo and abroad.
Phillips, director of the Peace and Human Rights Building Programme at the Institute for Human Rights Studies at Columbia University, said that if President Thaci is saying that the American government supports its position, then “ai either misunderstood them, or misinterpreted”.
Until days ago, Phillips has been engaged in President Thaci's foreign expert team, but has resigned, openly expressing disagreements with the idea of partitioning Kosovo.
“Yes, I'm sure. I talked to American officials. The American government does not support border correction, it supports finding a common solution that it can assess and that agreement should find support from relevant governments and civil society”, the American foreign policy expert has said.
