Alarm: In just three months, Kosovo is out of 90 doctors

In just three months, more than 90 doctors have left Kosovo. Concerned about this phenomenon, health professionals ask the country's institutions to create working conditions. Otherwise, according to them, Kosovo is threatened to remain without framework. Moving away from the health profession every day and more from Kosovo to work [...]

The removal of the health profession framework daily and more from Kosovo to work in European countries is taking serious proportions. Kosovo Doctors' Oda Chairman Plerat Sejdiu told public television that this will have its consequence for the country.

“Brend three months more than 90 doctors have gone west. This is extremely disturbing, this is with all the barriers that exist for free travel, and we fear we will arrive when a doctor in the day will leave Kosovo”, he said.

The same concern is raised by Kosovo Health Federation chairman Blerim Syla. He stresses that if the country's institutions do not work seriously in this direction, then Kosovo will have serious problems.

We have a lot of problems. We're working on a common strategy even with the minister of health, so that the doctor's escape will become a national problem. If we can achieve this, then we can stop this phenomenon, otherwise the flow is going to increase”, he said.

But how much you lose a state when the prepared medical framework leaves the country, Dr Pleurat Sejdiu explains.

“A doctor needs a minimum 14 years to prepare to provide a proper professional service. There are hundreds of thousands of euros, I'm only talking on the monetary side, and it (the doctor) “disappears”, and then it will take many years to replace it. Well, do we have time, no I don't believe we have”, Sejdiu said.

For Dr. Hagi Avdylin, at the same time a member of the parliamentary health commission from LDK ranks, this situation has resulted in poor management in the health system.

“Even though we're with the number of little doctors, the doctor has no work. This indicates that we are not knowing which doctor we need, which specializations we need to separate, and this is costing us a lot of loss of the potential of young doctors, but also the flight of the most vital part of society”.

The bill, which guarantees increased wages for health professionals, has been passed to Government, and at the moment of voting in the Assembly, the whites will receive increased salaries.

This is expected to boost their well-being and dignity, the Public Communication Office answers to the Ministry of Health sent to public television are said.
