Save the Children made that warning, adding that all generations can face death and hunger on an unprecedented scale so far. The three-year conflict between Yemen's Saudi forces backed by the government and Iran-related Huthi rebels has brought the country almost to collapse, leaving many people unable to cope with bread and water expenses, reports The Telegraph, Kosovo Press.
“Miliona children do not know when their next meal will come”, said Helle Schmidt, from Save the Child.
Four million children who are threatened with starvation have been identified so far, while Save the Children has warned that another million can face hunger, as the battle is not being seen.
As Schmidt describes the plight of children, she says she saw children who were so weak -- they couldn't even cry because their bodies had just surrendered to hunger.
Food prices in some parts of the country have doubled only in recent days, nongovernmental organisations suggest that some families should choose to pay to send a child to the hospital, or to provide food for the rest of the family.
A total of 5.2 million children in Yemen are now in danger of starving.
