Kosovo this year is aiming to join the international organisation, Interpol.

Whether it will be part of this important organisation, it will be known at the General Assembly Meeting, which will be held in November this year in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.

On the basis of the agenda published on the Interpol site, the Assembly will meet on November 18th and last until 21st.

And to lobby for membership in this organisation, the Kosovo government at the meeting last week has allocated 1.2m euros.

In a response from the Public Communication Office in the Government of Kosovo, it becomes known that these tools are meant to be spent on state coverage.

The split scheme is meant for covering the state agenda for membership in INTERPOL”, it has said briefly about Indexline.

They have added that the lobby group that will spend these financial means is “all officials of the relevant ministries and the Kosovo Police that have taken concrete tasks to manage this” process.

While stressing that Kosovo will join Interpol.

The government thinks that Kosovo will membership in INTERPOL because there is no one missing, except for transnational crime”, it says in ZKM.

Knowing the issues for European Integrations, Avni Mazrek for Indexline, has said that sharing tools is positive but does not automatically guarantee Kosovo's membership in this organisation.

“The knowing of tools is a positive step, but the allocation of funds does not guarantee membership automatically in this organisation and therefore the effectiveness of diplomacy and how these funds would be used to achieve the” goal, Mazreku said.

However, he expresses sceptical whether Kosovo will be admitted to Interpol.

Until, it emphasises that Serbian diplomacy has managed to undermine the country's membership in various international organisations.

“As far as membership in international organisations is concerned, in this case Interpol, Kosovo Diplomacy can be considered failed because Kosovo has failed to membership in key international organisations, now in Interpol. That, for many reasons, one lack of effective diplomacy that would have guaranteed membership in these organisations and Serbia's second most effective diplomacy to prevent Kosovo from membership in important international organisations, because Serbia is aware that today state sovereignty is in relation to state membership in international organisation”, Mazreku has said among other things.

While, for states that can block Kosovo, it has said it is unpredictable to stay of states in the assembly.

The General Assembly consists of delegates appointed by the governments of member states, where each member state has a vote. To join this organisation requires 2/3 of the votes.

We remember that last year where the assembly was held in China, Kosovo was withdrawn, because there were not enough votes.
