The Saudi statement came just hours after the Yeenas group claimed to have launched the attack, reports “Al Jazeera”, Periscopi broadcast.
State television channel “Al Ekhbariya” announced on Friday that Saudi defence forces seized the missile over Najran, a region that slammed the southern border of the kingdom with Yemen, before it could hit its target target.
“Al Masih”, a TV network directed by the rebels Houthi, said the group claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it had a successful “nitation of a short-range ballistic missile in a military target in Saudi Arabia”.
The Saudis claimed the rebels fired a Soviet-born Qaher-2M rocket into a military installation in Narran.
Missiles have a distance of up to 400 kilometers./Periscopi/
