The case "Tokaça" where the accused is Azem Syla can be turned to zero

Following Judge Nora Blace's advance at the Court of Appeals, the court was left without judges, who had been part of the panel at special investigative hearings, KTV reports.

To avoid repeating the process, the European mission for rule of law has appointed Judge Vladimir Micila, who is also on the Special Court's list of judges.

Such a thing, EULEX has confirmed the conference. Asked whether there is the possibility of repeating up to date procedures, the European mission has neither confirmed nor denied it.

During 13 hearings of the possibility of special investigation conducted at the end of 2016, two protected prosecution witnesses had testified.

While lawyer Tome Gashi questions EULEX's decision to appoint to the panel a judge who is also part of the Special Court.

EULEX had initially asked the Judiciary Council for the return of Judge Blace to the panel, the request from which they had withdrawn without any concrete reasoning.

Pristina's foundation court, instead of Judge Blace, has appointed Judge Vesel Ismajli, while with Judge Mikula, there is Judge Arcadius Sedec. Some of the sessions specified in the case “Toka”, in which aside from Azem Syla, 38 other people for organised crime were tried, had been cancelled pending completion of the panel.
