Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, during a visit to the Prizren Constitutional Court, secured continued support for the court and for all courts on Kosovo territory.
Tahiri said he has chosen to visit the Court in Prizren, as according to reports and statistics, it turns out that the Prizren Court is the most efficient tribunal in the republic of Kosovo.
He added that he announced that this court's chairman for meeting the changes they are, making them in the package of judicial laws, especially in the law for courts that directly affect the structure of any fundamental court in the republic of Kosovo.
According to him from this court and seven other courts throughout Kosovo, the department for administrative issues, which has so far been in Pristina, will be added.
We, like the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, have taken concrete steps and big steps these four months. Which I believe have not been done for the past four years, for the judiciary of the Republic of Kosovo. All requirements of the judicial council have been met, which means we will have increased the number of judges. Increasing the number of prosecutors, we will have increased support staff numbers. And what is most important is increasing the salaries of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Kosovo. We are showing readiness for empowering enforcement agencies in the Republic of Kosovo. Today, the judge of the Republic of Kosovo is a man of dignity. Today the judge of the Republic of Kosovo has the best salary in the region, and perhaps even wider. Of course, citizens rightly expect greater commitment, and the end of 2018 we hope to have tangible results in the fight against crime. To fight corruption. In the fight against evil and any negative phenomena that directly connect to the work of prosecutors and judges in the Republic of Kosovo”, he said.
And Prizren Foundation Court Chairman Imer Hoxha said the visit was aimed at boosting co-operation.
“Hesem in support of the minister in every respect. Legal infrastructure, too. We were promised that all our desires will be satisfied. But in carrying out the staff as judge. Like a professional associate. The promise is that I will not miss the approach and will of the justice minister. The priorities we left behind in the following year were matter of corrupt nature. This is where the court was very efficient. Indeed, We have carried out many things. We did 36 cases somewhere. There are 16 remaining cases. They are all new at work“, he said.
Meanwhile, KDR leader Nehat Idrizi said it would be a year of rule of law.
This year will be a year of rule of law. We will increase transparency, accountability, efficiency and performance of the judiciary. The Prizren court is one of the most efficient courts in the Republic of Kosovo. And that was the goal of choosing the first visit to this court. Knowing the efficiency and success this court has, I hope that even this year this efficiency will be even greater in proportion to the preliminary year”, he said.
