This is “The disease of legions”, from which 500 people were affected during 2017, which is for 35% more than a year ago, writes sonntagsbrick and quotes all Swiss media today.
Nearly five to ten percent of infections end in death.
The Federal Office of Health (BAG) expresses concern for the increase in cases recorded with this disease, while allegedly there may be a higher figure of unregistered cases. In other words, only serious cases have been recorded that have ended up in the hospital broadcast albinfo.ch.
BAG has set up a “Task Force” to address this concern.
Bacteria that cause this disease accumulate in the installations that have to do with the heating of water, such as in the showers or in the wellnes, as well as in the devices that ensure the moisture of the air.
The BAG recommends that water in boilers (Caldaña) heat up over 60 degrees degrees degrees after the bacteria causing the disease increase mostly in 25-40 degrees of water temperatures, notes albinfo.ch.ch. It is also recommended that pipes carrying hot water be washed away regularly.
Despite concern over the rise in the number of sufferers, there are no acute conditions that would require an alarm rise.
