According to I The SKP is currently under control in terms of seasonal flu, but with the current climate situation ruling in Kosovo, the possibility of increasing cases exists.

“Vala of flu on Kosovo's territory has not had high epidemic intensity, with one of the main sensors other than preventive measures being long-term vaccines during October, November and December of all risk groups”, the IKSHP report said.

According to the IKSHP from October 1st (40th week) through January 7th, 2018 (onest week), the National Institute of Public Health reported a total of 15,737 suspicious cases in the flu (ILI) 2329 cases ARI (Ack Respiratory Revolution), and 36 SAR cases (Ailence of the Ice Respirator Res).

The cases are reported by all municipalities in Kosovo except municipalities with Serb populations.

Largest Number of I Cases The KSHP is reported by the municipality of Pristina, Prizren and Podujevo, but neither exceeds the epidemic threshold.

During the first week of January 1st, 1609 cases of ILI, 193 cases of ARI, and 5 cases of SARI were reported.

In the laboratory of the National flu Centre- I The KSHPK through January 10th 2017 has tested a total of 40 suspicious samples in the flu. Of these seven samples have proved positive: 1 sample has produced positive results in A(H1), 5 samples in Influence A and 1 sample Influence B.

Also tested are two samples in other respiratory viruses that have resulted in negative.

In the Infectious Clinic, the Clinic of Pediatrics and Regional Hospitals during the 1st week (01-07 January 2018) have received 3 cases of grey status and 3 cases of Bronx and Pneumonia (ARI).

The National Institute has already provided professional recommendations for citizens to be careful and not to be out in cold surroundings, not to stay in closed locals with great density, and to use as many hot fluids and vitamins as possible.

The presentation of the disease is binding on the Law to prevent and fight infectious diseases No. 02-L-109 so all health institutions are required to present the disease at the National Public Health Institute.

Officials of the National Institute of Health of Kosovo are watching carefully the appearance of the A<x0 virus in the southern hemisphere (Australi) and are spreading to Europe, which was part of the group of common flu viruses and symptoms of the disease are similar to common flues, but can cause serious complications of the respiratory system, especially among older people and those with immunity weakened from chronic diseases.

The National Institute of Health of Kosovo has increased vigilance to cope with eventual flu cases A(H3N2) and is in a state of readiness to transmit the epidemiological situation, and for any change in the epidemiological situation, you will be informed over time.

How to Protect From Seasonal Grip

Seasonal flu

The seasonal flu is an acute viral infection. It is transmitted directly from one person to the other through spray during coughing or sneezing and indirectly to touching objects contaminated with the seasonal flu virus.

How long does a sick person spread the flu to others?

The person infected with the flu virus can be infectious to others - a day before he is sick and 5 days after the flu. In children, or people with lower immunity, the infection period may be a little longer.

Who is threatened by seasonal flu?

Anyone can be affected by the seasonal flu virus and spread it to others. But some people are at greater risk of being infected with the seasonal flu virus like:

• Young children under 5 years of age, especially until 2

• People 65 years old and older

• Women pregnant.

• People with chronic illnesses.

The usual signs of seasonal flu are:

Warning signs of emergency.

How can we protect ourselves from a seasonal flu virus?

We recommend three steps to combat the flu: inoculation, daily preventive measures, and treatment with antivirus drugs if the doctor recommends them.

I. Vaccination.

The vaccine protects the person himself and helps prevent the spread of the flu.

• In the months of October, December.

• The effect of the vaccine starts between 1 and 2 weeks after receiving

• The vaccine applies to the upper arm.

The flu virus vaccine is specifically recommended:

• Children Over 6 Months
