The famous hotel network, which has been present for 14 years in Albania, will leave in January. It's about Sheraton. The news is announced by the Albanian Tourists' Association and Tourist Agencies (ATOA). Through a statement to the media, this association considers this development very negative and paradoxically comes at a time when the government just took its measures to stimulate precisely the Sheraton-level hotels, removing the VAT.

“Sheration (that a year ago was purchased by the largest hotel group in the world, Marriott), is a very serious and weighty name in group hotel chains. For 14 years Sheraton Tirana entrusted its name, a troubled and highly-infected destination like Albania, risking at the cost of its image and business, the image of a country where no hotel chain had been violated before. Moreover, in 2003 when Sheraton decided to come to Tirana, very few capitals in the region had hotel brand of this level. Even to this day Sheraton does not have any neighboring location”, reportedly in the response of the Albanian Tourists & Tourist Agencies Association.
