In addition to the 63m-euro claim by the consortium “Bechtel-Enka”, the state of Kosovo is suspected to have been damaged by 8.5m euros in the project to build the “Arba Xhaferi” highway.
Out of public view, in December 2015, the Government of Kosovo and representatives of the consortium “Bechtel-Enka” have signed a change of millions in the value of the contract. It's 8.5m euros more than the price the contract was first signed.
This change has become known in a confidential report by current Infrastructure Minister, Pal Lekaj, a copy of which the newspaper “Voice” has obtained.
The issue has raised concerns in the ranks of MPs who are part of the Economic Development Commission. The report says the change in the value of the contract was made due to implementation of the fiscal package in 2015, respectively. S. 16 to 18 percent.
This gap was calculated in the value of the contract “Arben Xhaferi”, at a cost of 8.5m euros.
