The director of the Peace and Human Rights Building Programme, at Columbia University, David L Phillips, has said that the demarcation should be removed as a condition Kosovo has been put on, as similar disputes are held in many countries of the former Yugoslavia.
“Brussels must give up the condition they have set for Kosovo, so that visa liberalisation can be linked to the border regulation agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro. Border conventions exist among many countries from the former Yugoslavia. Kosovo's goal testifies to Brussels' bias against Albanians”, he wrote on Twitter.
The demarcation agreement with Montenegro has been ratified by the Montenegrin side, while that has not been done by Kosovo since Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has appointed a new commission to deal with the issue, and has clearly indicated that he does not accept the agreement reached. /Periscopi/
