For the murder of Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic, what happened Tuesday before his party headquarters in North Mitrovica, there have already been numerous reactions from local, Serbian and international politicians. Serbia is even seeking to be involved in investigations into the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, but it is still not known whether Kosovo will allow that.
Natasa Ivanovic Ilic, Ivanovic's sister, said little about her brother's murder yesterday.
“He is no longer and now nothing else matters”, she replied, in the Express question whether she believes Kosovo justice will soon find the hand of this work.
Murder occurred yesterday around 8:10, on “road. Sujeska” north of Mitrovica, ahead of Oliver Ivanovic's party headquarters, the SDP Civic Initiative.
The first information by Kosovo police says that, according to the testimony statements of the random witnesses, the victim was shot in front of the party headquarters at the time he was entering the workplace, from the street from his apartment, and was unaccompanied by no one, alone.
Kosovo Police regional spokesman Besim Hoti has told Express that they have already been released, analysed and assessed the videos taken from security cameras, which were taken at the scene or connected with the crime scene, as well as other material evidence.
Oliver Ivanovic is the highest political figure killed in Kosovo in the last 15 years. He has been for several mandates deputy of the Parliament and senior official of the Government of Kosovo.
Ivanovi has recently been facing the indictment for war crimes, though he was sentenced by the Foundation for the murder and deportation of Albanians from the north, but the case had turned into retrial and since then Ivanoviqi was free.
Oliver Ivanovic, 64, left a child in marriage to his second wife, and in his first marriage, he left three children.
