LDK GP concerned about air conditions in Pristina, calls for institutional intervention

The LDK adds that, “the LDK Parliamentary Group expresses indignation and react strongly that even after these alarming reports endanger the health of the population where they are concentrated about 40% of Kosovo's population in Kosovo's capital and its surroundings, it was two days out of these serious alarms from domestic and international credit institutions, we have neither the least response from Kosovo state institutions nor the government, the relevant ministry, but also from the Agency for Protection of the Environment of Kosovo as the competent institution for measurement and monitoring of the quality of our air <1m>

Further in the communiqué it is said that one of the main pillars of the AKMM's Directorate for Environment Rating and Environmental Reporting is the Directorate for Monitoring, Environmental Reporting and Reporting is clearly said to be one of the main pillars. This director will determine the main orientations and criteria on monitoring based on European and National environmental standards and indicators, will convey and receive information from all potential damage to Kosovo, such as energy, industry, transport, agriculture, forestry, etc. Professionally, and based on verified data will also bring information on the state and quality of air, water, soil, state of nature and biodiversity, on environmental and health relations, waste; other relevant information. But unfortunately for the citizens of the capital and the district this director and this agency as competent institutions and responsible under the law in power saw no word, advice or suggestion for citizens facing the most polluted air on the planet. To without responsibility pass into ignorance an adviser to the Ministry of Environment and Space Planning cabinet publicly suggests to the citizens of the capital and the district to stay inside! There is also one of the following evidence that this government and this governing logic have degraded and lost all moral, political and professional criteria.

The LDK says it will take all legal measures to influence this alarming air condition.

The LDK's “Parliamentary Group has carefully analysed the situation created in the last two days and urgently will take the legal and institutional steps to influence this alarming situation as soon as possible. We will invite the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning Minister, Chief of the Agency for Environmental Protection in Kosovo, KEK Director, Director of the National Institute of Public Health, and competent international institutions in our country for Sancing the created situation that endangers the health of the population of the Republic of Kosovo and around”, the communiqué said.
