According to data available in 2017, Albania exports goods to Kosovo worth about 150m euros, while Kosovo exports to Albania about 35m euros. From this data it is clearly seen that Albania's products are penetrated much easier into the Kosovo market than Kosovo products on the Albanian market, said in response.
According to the KKP, businessmen and producers from Kosovo have numerous problems that need to be resolved rather than the symbolic shift of the customs point to the port of Durres.
“Problems these dealing with procedures applied by the Albanian state for products from Kosovo, such as the payment of scanners, the rejection of phytosanitary certificates, long and unnecessary controls of products, which cause only delay and therefore cost increases. These are real problems which are affecting the failure of a common market”, the KKP points out.
Moreover, The KKP considers that terms of doing business, entrepreneurs and producers from Kosovo complain of protection from the Albanian state.
The environment of doing business to make it difficult when faced with various problems in disrespecting the contract, not paying goods and services, destroying property, and many other problems. The lack of security of basic services is also the reason why many of them are reluctant to extend their business activity to the Albanian market”, said in response.
