In a conversation for Koha.net, Grubi has said the Assembly will use its 30-day legal term for revote and will force the chairman to decree the law.
Ivanov today was declared not to decree the Law for Albanian because “on January 11th, Parliament voted the law without public debate, without the involvement of academic experts and without opposition”. He has said that with the adoption of this law the European flag has been misused. Now according to legal provisions in Macedonia, the Assembly is again reviewing the law and if it approves by majority of votes, the mayor is obliged to sign the decree.
“In line with the procedure, the Assembly has 30 days to revote the Law on the Use of Languages, and we will revote it back to the first session next, hopefully with a greater majority in Macedonia's Assembly with which they will end all challenges for the adoption of such a key” law, he has said.
According to Grubi, Ivanov with today's decision failed to improve his image in Albanians, nor to leave any trace in the rounding up the norms of the Ohrid Agreement.
“As Ivanov, and no one else can move forward and stop equality between Albanians and Macedonians in the country because it is the only way to a co-operative and equal society”, Grubi has further said.
