Italy takes over OSCE chairmanship

Italy will take over the chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSBE).
At the meeting of that organisation's Permanent Council on 11 January in Vienna, Italian Foreign Minister Angelo Alfano will present a programme of work and priorities for the presidency of member and partner nations, Kosova Prees broadcast.
He will also meet with institutions leaders, O missions The SEU meets once a year in Vienna.
Italy takes over presidency from Austria, which headed O SBE in 2016
O The SEU was established during the Cold War, as a forum for dialogue between East and West.
It today operates in three areas: military-political, economic-ecological and human. It has headquarters in Vienna and collects 57 member states from Europe, Central Asia and North America, which together make up much of the northern hemisphere.
