Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Kujtim Gashi has shared state rewards for Judo's Distria Krasniqi and Akil Gjakova and coach Driton Kuka, following the results achieved at the European Championship in Judo, which was held in November last year in Podgorica at a total value of 12,750 euros.
On the basis of the regulation for sharing state rewards for athletes who achieve peak results in international competitions, Minister Gashi shared the 5,000-euro Judistes Distria Krasniqi, who won the Golden Medal in this championship in the category of up to 52kg.
Juditist Akil Gjakova, meanwhile, met the price worth 3,500 euros for the Silver Medal's victory in the category of up to 73kg, while coach Driton Kuka received the 2,500-euro reward as Distria Krasniqi coach and 1,750 euros as Judist Gjakova coach.

He also said that all those athletes who produce the results will continue to have the Ministry's support.
Our commitment as minister will not be lacking in the following days. Sportsmen who are bringing results to Kosovo in a continuous manner, and particularly the Judo athletes are truly our pride not only as minister but also of the Republic of Kosovo and all Kosovo citizens, the minister said, expressing thanks to coach Kuka, who as a result of his work and commitment also comes.

For her part, Juditist Distria Krasniqi thanked Minister Gashi for his words and support. It's a pleasure to see that even state institutions are supporting us and believing in the work we're doing. I hope that in the future we will have successes and these co-operation”, the jungle said.
Akil Gjakova, indicated he feels happy that he has managed to return with medals from the European Championship. He stressed that “will continue to work so that the results are not missing. Of course, these rewards are a greater incentive for us to work even further. ”
Mayor Kuka, among other things, said “publicly invite businesses, particularly banks, to co-operate with sports in general by not forgetting sports that have brought the biggest results to Kosovo's sport of judo, karate and boxing
And Coach Driton Kuka thanked Minister Gashi and the work MKRS is doing in the sports field.
He said the jungle has achieved remarkable results since the beginning of the year, stressing that it is the first time a male contester has won the medal.
He also said that classifying sports, athletes and trainers and regulating sponsorship is what has lacked sports legislation.
