Loud singing is a good cure for all mothers who suffer from postpartum depression. This is the result of a recent study published by British Journal of Psychiatry.
Scientists studied 134 young mothers from all over the world grouping them into three different groups: One group was part of the song, another was part of creative games, and the third group did everything in everyday life, where young mothers were supported by the family, took comfort in postborn depression, or became part of various baby training sessions.
After long observation, scientists found that mothers who sing or create songs for their babies are treated more quickly by postnatal depression compared with mothers of other groups involved in the study.
All groups became part of the study during the 10 weeks, but in the first six weeks, the singing group showed an average decline of 35 percent of depressive symptoms.
The lead author of the study, Daisy Fancourt, of London University, said singing is another useful therapy for offering young mothers who suffer from postnatal depression.
These results are really interesting because they suggest something very simple as a cure referring to young mothers”.
