“Daja” testifies against Fatmir Limaj

At the Constitutional Court of Gjakova tomorrow, judgment will continue on Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, charged with war crimes linked to the murder of two civilians in the Malisheva area.

Four witnesses are expected to testify at tomorrow's session.

Azem Syla is expected to be among them.

Syla is expected to testify in the quality of the former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army General Staff.

During today's hearing, two other former members of the KLA's General Staff testified during Limaj's trial for the murder of Ramiz Hoxha and Selman Binish on October 2, 1998: Rexhep Selimi and Bislim Office.

Apart from Azma Syla for tomorrow, it is pre-emptive to give a witness of three more witnesses.

All these witnesses are nominated by the Kosovo Special Prosecutor.

Kosovo's special prosecutor on October 28, 2016, pressed charges against Limaj over the murder of two Albanian civilians during the war.

According to Special Prosecutor Ramiz Hoxha from the village of Bellanica and Selman Binishi from the village of Banja, the municipality of Malisheva, on October 2, 1998, were taken near the village mosque of Bellanica and executed at the entrance of the village of Kravasari.

The prosecution in the indictment claims Fatmir Limaj has seen the victims' bodies and has known about the crime committed, but has knowingly taken no measures towards uncovering the perpetrators of this crime and the case has never been submitted to competent bodies for investigation and prosecution.

Commission “Justice in Kosovo” in November last year demonstrated the research in two continuations in which the families of the victims taken in Bellanica in 1998 showed how this case happened.
