Oliver Ivanov has been killed, one of the political leaders of Kosovo Serbs, recently deemed suspected of crimes against Albanian civilians, but widely known in recent years as one of the opponents of Serbia's government led by Aleksandar Vuciqi, writes today Koha Ditore.
Ivanovi, considered to have been among the local politicians most supported by Kosovo Serbs since the end of the war, has been shot dead by unknown attackers on the eve of his party headquarters, the SDP Civic Initiative, in northern Mitrovica.
Ivanovic's murder has deepened the Kosovo-Serbia report crisis. The Serbian delegation to the talks in Brussels has interrupted dialogue, which would have to resume Tuesday after nearly a year of deadlock. On the other hand, Kosovo politicians have promised dawning Ivanovic's assassination and have asked Serbia not to politicise the case.
