When four years have passed since they are accused of voting twice within the same day, Ashref Krasniqi pleaded guilty to the charge he charges with misusing the right to vote in the 2014 elections for the Kosovo Assembly.
After hearing the indictment read by Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor Besa Limani, who charges that on June 8th 2014 he misused his voting rights, Krasniqi said it did not depend on those votes.
When I voted in Obilic, I was told that the vote was not valid and I went to the family and voted in Prizren. I voted for the first time, I did it and I didn't know it was wrong. I'm a baker and I'm dependent on those votes and I don't like anyone to change my job”, the accused said.
This statement by the accused after saying that he is becoming free and understanding of the situation was considered to be an admission of guilt by Judge Hamdi Ibrahimi, while prosecutor Limani agreed with the plea.
Statement of the court's case will take place on January 26th.
Krasniqi was accused by the prosecution that on June 8, 2014, contrary to the General Election Law, he has voted, exploiting the right to vote as a regular voter at the Voter School “Luigj Gurakuqi” in Prizren's village of Nashec, while on the same day at the Institute School “Ibrahim Rugova” in Obilic has voted on bail.
