Parents charged with keeping their 13 children bound in a house in California have been declared innocent.
David Turpin, 56, and Louise Turpin, 49, are facing charges of torture, abuse, and imprisonment.
They were arrested after one of their daughters escaped from home, while the police found the other brothers and sisters chained to beds and malnutrition.
The couple appeared in court after prosecutors pressed grave accusations of abuse against them.
District Attorney Riverside Mike Hestrin said the couple allegedly punished their children by connecting them first using ropes and later connecting them for their beds.
