At this rate, it turns out that nearly 50 businesses have been closed a day in Albania during 2017, excluding weekends. The highest number of closed subjects is in Tirana, with around 4,120. In Durres some 1,900 subjects have been closed in Vlora 1,085, in Fier 802, in Elbasan 673 (see the graph).
Most of the closed businesses are physical, self-employed people who had opened up subjects with their names. Such businesses, mainly in retail trade, are constantly opening and closing as competition from organised trade networks increases significantly. Locals are another category that is constantly bankrupt.
10 companies are from the directorate of large taxpayers, mainly in the oil field.
Compared to a year ago, the number of subjects who have switched to passive status has dropped significantly. But according to the taxes, in 2016 it resulted in more than 23 thousand businesses being closed, where on May 6th they passed to passive status about 997 subjects (opened about a decade ago and were without activity).
The last two years of taxes have developed an intensive process for cleaning up the company's list, listing subjects with passive status and passing on the status of businesses that had more than 12 months without declaring any activity. In total, there are about 111,000 companies that have passed with passive status, opened since the early 1990s and so far.
From this process, taxes also identified many subjects who were in passive status, which were exercising bills, which were automatically passed on to active status, while companies working with them were warned to be cautious and verify whether the subjects they give and receive bills were active.
Even the year 2018 starts badly, 247 subjects close in 6 days
In just 6 days, between January 3rd and January 8th 2018, 247 businesses have been closed, according to tax updates, mainly physical persons, where Tirana and Durres dominate. “Monitor” contacted some of them to ask for reasons for closing. Gezim Alushi, who managed Bar Butrinti near the Botannik Garden in Tirana, said the reason for closing the event was the lack of clientele. Dassamir Djindin, in Tirana, who had a wig, since 2015, said he closed it because it was not convenient and would be employed elsewhere.
Murat Shehu in Tirana said freezings had destroyed the seedlings and had no longer been able to renew the event, so he decided to close it.
Pellumb Zerdelaia, who owns a fruit-perime shop in Durres' Shkozet, said she closed the event after leaving the country. He said that the performance was not very good, so he made that decision, but he hopes that he can resume his activity when he returns.
The closure of a center call has followed, which has been put in trouble following pressure from the Italian government aimed at preventing Italy's departure from Albania. Durah Calling in Durres, open in 2015, has passed early this year on passive status, adding over 30 other subjects of this field that were closed in 2017.
While some subjects claimed they were closed after opening societies with limited responsibilities.
On April 1st, small VAT businesses
On April 1st, subjects with an annual turnover of over $2 million will pay T V The US, under the decision taken by the government late last year. The taxes have already announced taxpayers, who have carried out a circulation of over $2,000,000 (two million) for the 2017 calendar year and those who predict to make this circulation this year, by April 1, 2018, must be registered with tax responsibility on TV U.S. and the inventory.
Albert Nasta, chairman of the small business association, told the Monitor that this decision has found the enterprises prepared, which have no knowledge of procedures for involvement in the VAT scheme. Small businesses, in order to function, have to have a 50,000-dollar daily drive, a fact that shows the wide extent of the scheme, risking the market of many.
