EULEX is “fearing” that it will fail to complete the judicial process on Azem Syla, as well as on 38 other accused of organised crime in the “Toka” case. In June of this year, it will complete its mandate, while the court process risks restarting after one of the juro members has withdrawn.
Nora Blace is the retired local judge, having already passed to the Court of Appeals, losing the right to continue participating in the trial. Consequently, EULEX has sent a letter to the Kosovo Judiciary Council (KGJK) and has asked that Blace be allowed to participate in the trial, writes “Koha Ditore” today.
But the KDR, as Koha Ditore “” has yet to review the request.
Former KLA chief of staff, Azem Syla, along with 38 other people, including former head of the Pristina Municipal Court, Nuhi Uka, are charged with criminal acts: organised crime, money laundering, misuse of official office, counterfeiting official documents and taking bribes in the case of the so-called “Toka1>.
