Spain, the Catalonian city of Tarragona, hostes the 2018 Mediterranean Games from June 22nd to July 1st. And in that multi-port event Kosovo will also participate, for the first time as a state. But the problem for Spain presents the fact that this state does not recognise Kosovo's independence, Koha Ditore writes today.
For this reason there has been a silent conflict between the political authorities of Spain and sports, Spain's Olympic Committee, respectively.
Political authorities have issued statements that the decision should be respected not to recognise the state of Kosovo even when the Mediterranean Games are organised.
