Albanian producers: To unify Albanian market, remove border barriers

At a media conference held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, officials of these associations have stated that they are not for obstructing the unification of the Albanian market, but rather require that all border barriers be removed across borders.

Nagip Feyzi, chairman of the Club of International Producers and representative of producers from Macedonia, has said that today they are clarifying a statement that was made days ago. He has denied Albanian government statements, that producers are obstructing intergovernmental agreements, saying they are to make co-operation, not for obstacles.

“We have very good co-operation between the producers of Albania and Kosovo, but we also have some obstacles and challenges that hinder our best co-operation. After that statement we found it reasonable to meet here in Tirana and to be all together to show that we as producers are sure that it is not those statements on purpose, but that there are probably statements that have had perhaps some haste on the part of someone. And we are here to show those businesspeople or businessmen who are allegedly obstructing signatures of agreements between the two Albanian governments. We hope everything that's been said isn't true, because if there's something true, we're willing here to wait and discuss it”, Fyzi said.

While Astrit Shaban, chairman of the Club of Producers, has said that just as music and culture and the economy are a free and open market. According to him, their demands are to remove all obstacles or barriers to Kosovo's economy. He has said they have an excellent relationship between three Albanian associations, which the main focus has on removing any barrier that Albanian producers prevent from freely circulate.

We're here to testify that we have no obstacle. It is the demand of producers that as soon as our governments unify everything they can to unified and as soon as this market is free open. I often use a sentence that I take the opportunity to use today for a Tirana producer to sell in Pristina as in Vlora, but also for the Podujevo to sell in Fier and Debar and not have any obstacle. So our only requirement is to remove all obstacles that a producer of any kind has today”, Shaban said.

Representatives of producers from Albania claimed they are for a Balkan market, but on a condition to have market unification between Kosovo and Albania.

Albania's Association of Producers Chairman Bardhil Baltza said they have proposed to make the unification of the Albanian economy. He added that among them there are none that hinders the spirit of co-operation.

“We are here to say that we as the union of Albanian producers from both sides of the border, where we have long proposed Albanian governments to make the unification of the Albanian economy and sincerely see no obstacle between us. There are no people among us who are against this economic union and I believe that in the spirit of Berlin and the European community, all economies can unite and we have no obstacle and know that we are the terrorists of our governments to push forward this process”, Baltza has said.

While Nagip Feyzi has said among other things that Macedonia does not have any major obstacles, but there are obstacles to Albania because of some procedures that are still not properly defined.
