Only 18.5 per cent of consumption is covered by renewable energy in Kosovo

Only 18.5 percent of all electricity consumed in Kosovo is provided through renewable sources. This figure, drawn from the latest report of the Energy Committee, is evidently less than the target set by this committee. For Kosovo, by 2020 the figure was determined by 25 percent, [...]
And with the Strategy for Energy 2017-26, approved Friday by the Kosovo Parliament, the Ministry of Economic Development aims to increase the number of licenses for renewable resources and support schemes for these sources, to multiply this type of electricity production.
This ministry has set limits on increasing the production capacities of these resources to 400 megawatts per hour from about 100 now generated.
“As far as electricity and capacity envisioned in 2020, according to the promotional target planned to install 240 MW energy from HCs. While other types of BRE (renewable energy sources v.j.), energy from the wind is projected to have capacity installed 150 MW, photovoltaic energy 10MW and energy from biomas 14 MW”
