During his stay in New York at the invitation of President Donald Trump, President Thaci, along with the First Lady of State, Lumniye Thaci, were welcomed by the US presidential couple, President Trump and First Lady Melanie Trump. The country's first had a brief meeting with President Trump.

The head of state has met with world leaders from countries that have recognised and have not recognised Kosovo, where it has sought support for consolidating the state's position on the global political scene, for new recognitions of the country, and for membership in key international organisations.

President Thaci has held bilateral meetings with European Council President Donald Tusk, with Assistant Task Officer Donald Tusk US Secretary for European Affairs Elizabeth Millard, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee, with leaders of Western Balkan states at the meeting organised by European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy High Representative Federica Moghrini, President of the United Nations General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak, President Abdullah II of Jordan, Turkey's Recep Tayy Tayy Erdo Dragan, Foreign Minister Nicosia, Croatian Prime Minister Andrejkov, Prime Minister Miroslav Lajcak, President of Slovenia, President Radev, President Lazar President for Jordan, Rice, Russian President Caffin Karkımqi, Greek Foreign Minister for Turkey's Erpin Erpin Erkaliantis, Foreign Minister, Foreign Minister for Minister, Erkaan Gasqitqitqi, Foreign Minister, Foreign Minister, Foreign Minister Ibrahimovic.
