Serbian analyst: Behgjet Pacolli, ideal man for reports with Belgrade

Media estimates in Belgrade for political actors in Kosovo are different. Many media even further place Kosovo institutions under fingernails, the PAN coalition calls it a war coalition, while not the media that Ramush Haradinaj calls a war criminal. But political factors have reacted very little in terms of the establishment of institutions in Kosovo. The media cite the statement of the Movement for Free Citizens, which states that the “power in Serbia has also made an unintelligible decision, so that Serpska List supports Ramush Haradinaj”'s war coalition. While Movement Dveri claims, “Vukiqi recognises Kosovo's independence, with the coalition being introduced with war criminal Haradinaj”.

Self-Determination Blocked

Dusan Janjic thinks that solving the crisis in this way is rational, because a solution without Vetevendosje has been sought. Janjak says this party is “populist and ethno-nationalist”. According to him, Vetevendosje is the largest current <x2-pagla of Kosovo's political scene, while their success is based on the fact that Thaci, Haradinaj and others have failed to ensure the recognition of Kosovo by Serbia and all other countries”.

Belgrade's influence on the Kosovo political scene is not small, Janjic thinks, because even “Belgrade has led a nationalist and populist policy, which has strained even more reports in Kosovo. On the other hand, Janiq thinks that even creating his own Serpska list was wrong, because instead of a factor in motivating people to come up with elections, it has become a parapolitical and economic criminal lobby. As such, he has also taken over the political life of Serbs in Kosovo. All this has become a kind of trade with infrastructure projects, for money and energy”.

A Decisive Man

A great deal of Serbian media has shown concern for Behxhet Pacolli, not only because of his wealth, but also personal biographies and business ties with Serbia or Russia. His relationship with some politicians in Belgrade is also required here. Radio Belgrade Director Milivoje Mihajlovic thinks these ties are from the past and that Pacolli has no connection with the current political garrison in Belgrade. Let's see how Pacolli will behave in the future, but what needs to be stressed is that he has so far taken no step that would be at the expense of Kosovo Serbs”, he says.

It is about a businessman since the time of the former Yugoslavia, who has had the support of former political structures and as such presents an ideal person for normalising reports between Pristina and Belgrade, Dusan Janjic thinks. “I think that he personally has many ideas about how economic reports between Serbia and Kosovo can be advanced, which would shed positive light even in the process of normalising reports. While no remarks against him can be made to the populist part either, Pacolli has supported Kosovo's entire independence”.

In Pristina it is said that Kosovo's fate now depends on Aleksandar Vuciqi. Milivoje Mihajlovic says that Vuciqi is trying to be introduced as the region's leader and reconciliation process. These are good steps in particular when talking about dialogue in Brussels, and this could radically change its position. Vuciqi will have an understanding that could succeed if she continues regular daily contacts with Pristina so that problems can be resolved as soon as possible. I think it is very important that Vuciq insist on permanent reconciliation because of a better future”.

America or Germany?

Dusan Janjaq, on the other hand, thinks it is negative that in Belgrade only decides for one person. “in such a situation is possible for all problems to be blamed only for Serbia and Vuciqi, for things that have not been realised. Some European countries have stressed this, so Vucqi is now under enormous pressure. But he himself wanted things to go in that direction, and now we will see what the price of such behavior will be”. Janjak says that in Pristina Vuciqi is thought to have Berlin's support (Despite whether it is true or not). This also creates problems because in Kosovo there are people who think that American interests should be protected there through narrowing German influence”.
