This is the strategy for Serbia's entry into the EU, which has declared the president of the Forum for International Relations of the European Movement, Jelena Minic. The European Commission has practically set the deadline for meeting the conditions for membership in our country, she added.
This means that Belgrade has received what Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic requested, the president of the European Movement International Relations Forum added, reported “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
“So Serbia and Montenegro took a deadline, which is what President Vucic asked for during his recent visit to Brussels”, Minic told “Danas”, adding that the European Council in the next 16 months has begun to develop “The strategy for successful EU accession of Serbia and Montenegro as the most advanced candidates in the Western Balkans, with particular emphasis on rule of law, fundamental rights and the fight against corruption and stability in the region”.
Minic explains that the tasks and measures of a common foreign and security policy, as well as joint defence and security policies, have a high place, in line with the challenges listed in the future and are considered seriously high by the EU door.
“This means that Serbia and Montenegro have the chance to prepare well for the next eight years to join the EU and thus invite others in the region to participate fully in the most important European project”, Minic said.
The president of the European Council, Jean-Claude Juncker, cited a goal, outlining the priorities for which the EC will work in the next 16 months, where for Serbia and the entire Western Balkan region, the most important message is at page nine on the document titled <x0->initiatives that will begin with the prospect of realisation by 2025x1>.
For the next eight years, according to Minic, Serbia and Montenegro must prepare well for joining the EU, so their responsibility to be even greater, adding that more intensity should be used on this issue, which will not continue indefinitely, she says “ne must respond to this call to the region”.
For all those who sincerely want the rule of law, respect for basic human rights, the fight against corruption that has affected all the pillars of society and those who sincerely want good relations in the region, with all neighbours, yesterday was truly a good day”, Minic said./Periscopi/
