He added that both politicians and private citizens have a “moral responsibility” to act.
The pope is a strong supporter of the Paris climate agreement, a pledge by almost 200 countries to reduce climate change-related emissions. Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the deal in June.
Pope Francis also said he hoped Trump would reconsider his decision to end DACA, a policy that granted certain rights to young immigrants without documents. /The world.al
