The Kosovo Security Force is still facing no resolution of its status to be an army.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, long ago had undertaken the initiative for constitutional changes to the KSF to become the military, but for his efforts, it was not supported by either the political spectrum in the country but by internationals.
East Bridge Academy General Director John Skovbo, who monitors the work of the KSF, in an interview given to the Tribuna Channel, said that KSF needs first to freeze its internal capacities through professional training and then have access to military development.
He says the KSF has the necessary capacity, including the number of soldiers.
Skovbo sees the army's creation for a state like Kosovo and expects it to begin within 14 days with education and training in order to come to the military transition.
One like Skovbo noted that the creation of the military with all its weapons will last in a set of 10 years.
In the end, Skovbo stressed that NATO's presence is necessary even if the KSF becomes an army, as it would take another 10 years to get the full military and risk, which comes from Russia's influence in the Balkans.
