Festim Beqiri, one of the residents of this building, said he had twice experienced the tortures of Ricalo twice and that Ricalo had pointed a gun at his already late father.

The charges have raised numerous reactions from politics and society in Kosovo.

Ricalo himself has denied those charges, while the two opposition parties -- the VV and LDK -- have demanded from the prosecution the launch of investigations, while from Ramush Haradinaj his minister's dismissal.

But Haradinaj, in a statement issued last week, defended Minister Rikalo, saying he had asked the Prosecution, AKI and police information about citizens' accusations, but these institutions had no information that he might be involved in such actions.
