The flood of refugees, losing a nine-year-old.

A 9 - year - old girl has lost her life in the early hours of Thursday, following the drowning of a refugee boat in Greek waters.

The tragic event took place in northwest Castelorizos Island, when the boat was overturned because of poor weather conditions.

A scan of the European agency Frontex managed to save five people, including a young girl only nine years old, who presented health problems. She was rushed to the island's health center, but despite her efforts, she was unable to live.

In the early hours of the morning, it was announced that a Greek coastal police boat found 20 survivors. It is not yet known how many people happened aboard the boat, which had left Turkey's coast.

Rescue teams, assisted by a helicopter, are continuing their search in the area, where other survivors are estimated to be missing.
