These are the three drugs most used in Kosovo

Kosovo police today have taken a police action against preventing the use of narcotics mainly by young people.

The operation was conducted after a meeting of Kosovo Police Director Shpend Maxhuni with Kosovo's new prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj.

An agreement had been reached during this meeting between Prime Minister Haradinaj and Principal Maxhuni.

They had agreed to urgently deal with the fight against the use of drugs by young people in Kosovo schools.

Today the Directorate for Trafficking in Narcotics had conducted an action in Pristina and Gjakova.

This operation, according to Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha, has not resulted in any arrests or seizures of any material.

But Hoxha has told of Insider the confiscated number of narcotics during the January-stator period of 2017.

Hoxha has said the most frequent drug for both trafficking and consumption is marijuana.

“During the January period until September 15th 2017 of Kosovo Police have been confiscated: Marihua 1624kg, 3163 g Heroine, 539g Cocaine, Bime cannabis 5754 , 140 g extazy”, Hoxha told the Inseder.

While the largest amount was confiscated in April, 906kg of 843g and March 269kg 824g.

The city with the largest number of cases of narcotics use is Pristina, Hoxha has said.

We remember that Kosovo police this month have confiscated an estimated 135kg of marijuana-type narcotics in the Ferizaj region, more precisely on Gjilan-Ferizaj Street, in the village of Bibaij.
