Commissioner for European Community Policy and European Union Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will visit Serbia on Friday, a day after another EU official visited Kosovo.

During her stay in Kosovo, Angelina Eichhorst, Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Director for Western Europe, the Western Balkans and Turkey at the European Foreign Service, has said Kosovo has European prospects, but that it must meet the established conditions.

It is unknown whether the cause of Hahn's failure to return to Kosovo is the attacks the country's president, Hashim Thaci, had made.

The first Kosovo accused Hahn of dealing with Serbia during the month of April.

“Federica Moghrini at least tries to preserve the same dynamics in the Western Balkans, until the Hahn commissionor is unfortunately not present in Southeast Europe”, Thaci declared.

Kosovo's president had said Hahn cares only for Serbia and for no other country in the Western Balkans, while demanding a further EU engagement in the Balkans to reduce the Russian influence, which is growing.

While in Belgrade on Friday, Hahn will re-focus the EU's commitment to Serbia's integration into the European bloc, and Brussels' support for its reform process.

He will discuss the state of Serbia's membership process as well as priority issues, such as establishing the Regional Economic Zone and implementing the agenda of regional interconnection.

Hahn will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq on 15 September; Prime Minister Ana Brnabiq; and with the first deputy prime minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic simultaneously.
