For the former OSCE Ambassador to Albania Robert Bosch, who has just completed the mandate of Holland's ambassador to Kosovo, the attention that has recently received the rise of Albanian criminality in the Netherlands is all media swell.
You know, just a few weeks ago in a Dutch newspaper, a Amsterdam police document was published, a document that spoke of the so-called Albanian mafia arrival in Holland. The police officer in his report wrote that, perhaps, the visa regime should be reconsidered because we are seeing that visa freedom has increased crime. This was an internal document, not destined for media, so becoming public received greater attention than was needed”, said Robert Bosch, former OSCE ambassador to Albania.
In spite of that, according to him, there is no danger that visa regime with the Netherlands will return to this wave of immigration.
“should remain at the borders of an internal police document, as police officers are not diplomats. We have a big problem with Albanians in Holland. Young people try to board the British coast illegally. In most cases, they do not succeed and live on the street. They do not steal, but most people do not like that they roam the streets of the Netherlands. The Dutch ask the police to expel them, but having free visa regimes, police cannot do that. These immigrants show in this form that they have no idea what free visa regime means because they think they can do anything. I think, if there's crime, and there's crime everywhere, we can't generalise that Albanians do the crime in Holland, because most Albanians are good people. This became huge now, has gone to the rank of ministries, but let's be reasonable: true criminals do not stop the visa regime. It would be very unfair for normal people to be victims and all because of a police officer”, Bosch said.
In terms of Albania and Kosovo's EU integration perspective, Bosch sees “green resolution” after 5 years.
If for migration I can say I'm a field expert, I can't say the same thing about integration. We have seen Juncker in the European Parliament working hard and said the road is open, but, I think it won't happen now, it will happen in the next 4-5 years”, Bosch said. /Okéu. com/
