Albanian teacher travels eight hours a day with donkey

Freedom Hoxha is a teacher in the village of Kerrabbe Minor. She travels every day with a donkey between the mountains for four hours in one direction from Funari to Curraba to get to school at 8.

I walk nine hours every day if I walk from the Mollagec to the leg. And if it goes down this way from the mountains, I do it for eight hours. A rain dew slides rocks and can kill me.

The only force they give me are the students waiting for me every day, and my big wish is to bring something new into my teaching that I see it's being destroyed”, she said.

Students worship their teacher in snowtime. Her desire is to make the most of this contribution to a closer area. She wants no child left illiterate in the area.
